The Corvette Image Philosophy
My name is Jerry Geiszler. My
wife Lori and I have been operating a body shop called Jerry's
Custom Paint & Collision Center since 1979.
Our body shop has always specialized in Corvette repairs. My
Corvette repair and paint experience goes back to the late
sixties when my career began. At that time repairs were done with
OEM panels when available. After market panels became desireable
because the supply was better and the cars were all
"drivers". Many corvettes were also being customized
with flares, spoilers, hood scoops, etc.
In the late 70's and early 80's the desire to return these cars
to original took over the Corvette repair industry. Our shop
along with others all over the country needed a good supply of
OEM panels to restore Corvette bodies. OEM parts became very hard
to find and very costly.
In 1981 we began "The Corvette Image" to manufacture
hand made parts, but we saw the importance of making parts like
OEM for restoration purposes. Since it was essential to have an
OEM part or a very near exact replica I made a commitment to
build tooling to manufacture the best most original appearing
body panels ever made. These panels are known as press molded.
At The Corvette Image all tooling is built in house to assure the
most exact replica possible. These parts are also used in our own
restoration shop on cars we are restoring.
The Corvette Image manufactures parts as original using only
fiberglass and correct color resins to reproduce the original
color and texture. These press molded panels are bare glass like
OEM and are the most faithful reproductions ever made.
We are constantly watching the market to see what parts are
needed. We continue to build tooling every year to provide the
parts needs of repair shops, restoration shops, and the home
restorer. Our commitment to the highest quality reproductions
will continue to be foremost in our business philosophy.
